NOV. 10, 2008 • Activision Blizzard acquired Iowa City-based Budcat Creations, which had worked on Guitar Hero III: Legends off Rock for Nintendo platforms. The acquisition adds additional Wii and DS development expertise to the publisher’s in-house studios.
SEPT. 12, 2008 • To bolster its music-themed product, Activision Blizzard acquires U.K.-based FreeStyleGames. The latter is already localizing downloadable content for the Guitar Hero franchise, and is creating a new unannounced title in the music game genre.
