Xbox 360 Console Sales Up

OCT. 29, 2010 • Microsoft’s Entertainment and Devices division rides into the holiday season with good tidings. Xbox 360 console sales were up 38 percent for the quarter ending Sept. 30, with 2.8 million units sold. The  division reported quarterly revenue of $1.8 billion, up 27% from 2009. 4GB Xbox 360 & Halo Reach

SEPT. 15, 2010 • Microsoft Corp. acknowledged that its 4GB Xbox 360 Slim had a problem with some multiplayer features of Halo Reach. The game is Microsoft’s primary lead-in to the fall sales period, and drove $200 million in worldwide sales its first day in release. On the 4GB Slim, co-operative multiplayer modes will not function as the game will request access to a hard drive, and will ignore the available system memory. .....

Xbox Live Gold Subscription Price Increased to $59

AUG. 30, 2010 • Starting Nov. 1 Microsoft will raise the annual Xbox Live Gold subscription to $59.99 from $49.99. The move will make the previously announced Family Subscription a greater value. The Gold Family Pack will provide four Gold memberships for $99. In addition, existing Gold user will be able to roll their single subscription into the Gold Family Pack, The family plan includes a more family-friending dashboard, and content availability will be slight.....

Microsoft China Seeks Approval For Xbox 360 Launch

JULY 29, 2010 • The Shanghai Daily reported that Microsoft China has requested approval from Chinese regulators to sell the Xbox 360 in the country. No timetable has been established since Chinese agencies often evaluate such submissions at their own pace.
