Nintendo 3DS Leads U.S. Console Sales

JULY 19, 2013 • For the second month in a row the Nintendo 3DS was the top selling console in the U.S. According to the NPD Group, the handheld moved 225,000 units in the month of June. The Xbox 360 was second at 145,000 units. Much of the steam behind the 3DS’ showing came as a result of having three titles in the Top 10. Barnes & Noble Pulls Back From Tablets

JUNE 26, 2013 • After posting a $118.6 million loss for the quarter ending April 30th, including a $18.3 million impairment charge on a 34% drop in sales of its tablet hardware, Barnes & Noble has made the decision to cease manufacturing its Nook Color devices. Smaller Wikipad Arrives for E3

JUNE 5, 2013 • All set for a Halloween 2012 release, the 10-inch Wikipad Android gaming tablet was delayed in order fix a hardware issue with the game controller dock. When attached, the horizontal dock adds gaming controls to the fully featured tablet. Facebook Mobile Business Sees Growth

MAY 2, 2013 • Mirroring major consumer entertainment trends noticed elsewhere, Facebook is seeing a rising tide of users accessing the social network via smartphones. Nintendo eShop Gains Traction

APRIL 17, 2013 • During a press conference held in San Francisco, Nintendo of America executive vice president Scott Moffitt said the 3DS title Fire Emblem: Awakening had sold 240,000 units in the U.S. since its Feb. 4 release.
