Angry Birds at 500 Million Downloads

NOV. 2, 2011 • Since it release in 2009, Rovio Mobile’s Angry Birds has registered more than 500 million downloads on various platforms. Rovio also says 300 million minutes a day are played in the game globally. Nintendo 3DS Sales Reach 6.68M

OCT. 27, 2011 • Nintendo 3DS sales reached 6.68 million units since the system’s February launch in Japan. To boost sales, the suggested retail price was dropped to $180 from $250 last August. Nintendo said that it had sold 8.13 million units of 3DS software worldwide to date. By March 2012 the company projects it will have sold 16 million 3DS systems, and 50 million software units, the latter a reduction from the originally estimated 70 million units......

SEPT. 29, 2011 • Amazon.com introduced its Kindle Fire tablet. The unit is the online retailer’s first color touch-screen model that comes with a seven-inch screen, and wifi connectivity for $199. Peter Dille Hired by Tapjoy

SEPT. 7, 2011 • Mobile monetization firm Tapjoy has hired former Sony Computer Entertainment America executive Peter Dille as its chief marketing officer.
