    The DFC Intelligence Global Gamer Consumer Segmentation is a crucial tool for identifying the total addressable market (TAM) for console, PC and mobile games.  This allows users to segment consumers by country and platform.  Crucially it avoids double counting for consumers that use more than one game platform.

    This report is a pivot table Excel spreadsheet that provides a look at the global population for gamers broken down by country and region.

    Gamers are classified based on which platform they use.  These platforms include:

    • Console game systems such as PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch
    • Dedicated handheld systems such as Nintendo 3DS or PlayStation Vita
    • Desktop and Laptop PCs
    • Mobile devices including iOS and Android smartphones and tablets

    For each country/region covered, consumers are placed into 15 different categories based on what platforms they use.
