Business Loves iPhone

iphone business-SMAY 27, 2010 • Since January AT&T Inc. says 40% of iPhone sales have been to business customers. The carrier would not disclose how many units have been sold during 2010.

Impact: Given the bulk of Apple’s historic hardware sales have gone to consumer users, it was no surprise that consumers were the primary iPhone market as RIM’s Blackberry continued to dominate the business market.  AT&T’s disclosure sends a clear message that the iPhone is now an even greater threat to RIM and an opportunity for business software developers to create serious mobile applications for enterprise computing.
