On March 3, 2017 launched the Nintendo Switch console/portable game system. Through the end of 2017 this system shipped nearly 15 million units. This made the first year of the Switch one of the best-selling for any game system. The hype around the Switch is resulting in a rush to create content for the system. While the Switch is clearly a success, past Nintendo systems have been a struggle for third party content developers.
