Headquartered in Shanghai, with offices in Bellevue, Wash., the new studio will target smaller casual games for handhelds, PCs and the iPhone, with an emphasis on online titles funded by micro-transactions. The first Red Rocket title is slated for release during the first half of 2009 via the company&#8217;s own portal.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\" data-mce-mark=\"1\"><em>Impact: The current hot trend is to focus on micro-transactions and multiple platforms.\u00a0 The goal is to combine low-cost Asian game development techniques with rapidly growing platforms in the Western markets. Red Rocket Games is clearly not unique, there are hundreds of companies trying to do the same thing.
