Scene It is a trivia game where players identify film clips, and has sold more than 15 million units worldwide.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><em>Impact: In the late 1990s, DFC Intelligence predicted the emergence of a major new type of video game genre we called the &#8220;post modern parlor game.&#8221;\u00a0 We thought quiz shows and the ability to interact with trivia and other game shows would be a major driver for interactive entertainment platforms.\u00a0 It never panned out to the extent we expected, however we still hold out hope.\u00a0 Scene It has done extremely well as a DVD-based trivia game.\u00a0 We think this type of game has even more potential on the high-end console systems.\u00a0 Microsoft released a version for the Xbox 360 in late 2007.\u00a0 Sony has the Buzz series of trivia contests for its console systems.\u00a0 Sales of these titles are not exactly through the roof.\u00a0 However, we still argue that products like Scene It have a much brighter future for the console systems.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SEPT. 2, 2008 \u2022 ScreenLife, developer of the Scene It movie game, is acquired by Paramount Digital Entertainment.
