DFC estimates that consumer spending on PC hardware specifically for playing games will account for $30 billion in 2017.  This report has five-year forecasts for the market size of performance and enthusiast PC game systems. Included in the report is a summary of actual system data from over 1.5 million Emerging PC Gamers comparing system specifications in 2015 and 2016 for CPU, GPU, form factor, manufacturer and OS.  Emerging PC Gamers are by and large males in the 13-25 age range who play lots of games on PC but are limited by the high cost of hardware.
